03. Live Coaching & Real-time Metrics
GarSync 2.0 is more than just a synchronization tool; it's a powerful exercise recording and monitoring hub. By connecting external sensors, you can track your physical performance in real-time.
1. Choosing a Sport Mode
Tap the "+" button at the bottom of the "Today" page to select your activity:
- Outdoor Sports (GPS): Running, Walking, Cycling. The system uses your phone's GPS to track your route and provides real-time pace, distance, and heart rate.
- Indoor Virtual Ride: Designed for indoor bike trainers. It features an immersive power dashboard and supports structured workout plans (ERG mode).
- Swimming Activity Hub: While phones aren't meant for the pool, you can sync your swim data from sports watches to GarSync for centralized management of your pool and open water sessions.
2. Connecting External Sensors (BLE)
For professional-grade physiological data, we recommend connecting external sensors:
- Go to "Discovery" -> "BLE Devices", or tap the sensor icons (HR/Power) on the pre-activity status bar.
- Supported Device Types:
- Heart Rate Monitor (HRM): For precise HR zone analysis.
- Power Meter: The essential data source for serious cyclists.
- Cadence Sensor: Monitor your pedaling frequency.
- Smart Trainer: In Virtual Ride mode, the app automatically adjusts trainer resistance based on your workout plan.
3. Real-time Dashboard
During your workout, the dashboard provides live feedback on key metrics:
- Intensity Indicator: A color-coded ring (Gray-Blue-Green-Yellow-Red) shows your current HR/Power zone.
- Dynamic Charts: Live power and HR graphs help you manage your effort.
- Target Guidance: In ERG mode, the app displays your target power vs. actual power to keep you on track.
4. Running Dynamics
GarSync supports recording advanced running mechanics (requires compatible sensors):
- Vertical Oscillation: The vertical movement of your center of mass.
- Stride Length: Helps you optimize running economy.
- Vertical Ratio: A measure of efficiency comparing vertical movement to forward progress.
💡 Tip: Once you tap "Stop" and "Save", your activity data will automatically trigger all configured sync tasks, distributing your workout to all platforms in seconds.
