Data Synchronization
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
This chapter summarizes the most common issues and solutions for GarSync 2.x users.2. Data Synchronization
Q: Will syncing cause duplicate activities?
A: No. Our intelligent algorithm uses the original timestamp as a unique "fingerprint." Redundant uploads are automatically skipped.
Q: Will activities recorded by both a bike computer and a watch duplicate?
A: Only if they start at the exact same second. If the timestamps differ, they are treated as separate activities.
Q: How do I sync historical records?
A: Check "Sync History" when creating a task. You can also use "Full Refresh" in Account Management to force-scan all data. **Warning**: Do not do this frequently to avoid platform restrictions.
Q: If I delete an activity from a platform, will it be deleted elsewhere?
A: No. GarSync never deletes data automatically. However, manual deletion from the GarSync list will call the platform's API to remove it.
Q: Why is a successful sync not visible on some platforms?
A: Platforms like Blackbird or Xingzhe reject certain files:
- Duplicate: File already exists.
- No Track: Virtual/Indoor files without GPS data are often rejected or hidden.
